OK, Kamal--fine, I accept your diagnosis of the absence of morality among the people of Assam .

Then explain why Gen. Vombatkare--a retired general ofd the Army Corps of Engineers write the following:

Funds periodically released for flood control are simply frittered away in >further engineering works that only succeed in compounding the earlier >engineering follies but more importantly, of every rupee spent, nearly 80% >illegally goes into pockets of the contractor-engineer-politician-bureaucrat >nexus. Thus there is strong motivation at all levels of government to get funds >released for "flood control", even if the futility of such engineering works is >understood.

Corruption is at the root of all our national problems - the corrupt being >those who offer and give bribes just as much as those who demand and take them. >But there are many well-meaning people who are ignorant or choose to remain >ignorant of the enormous corruption in large projects that make the corrupt >richer - such people are many, many in our country.

Is he a Delhi basher too? Or is he just another anti_Indian?

I will wait to hear with bated breath.

Since Chandan Kokaideo's Delhi bashing is legendary,no amount of explanation would, perhaps,be possible to convince him otherwise.

In the end,it filters down to the people of Assam, the very " jono xadharon",who can create change. The social vices like corruption have been going on unabated, only because of the people of Assam, who allow the poliuticians and their sycophants to get away with the brazen looting of the exchequer. The " raiz" must be willing to pool in their efforts NON-VIOLENTLY for the cause without breaking the laws of the land.It is up to the people to bell the cat
