Condemnation and Appeal
The ULFA call to boycott the 33rd National Games being hosted by the State
goes against the interests of the States People. It also snacks of a
conspiracy to blacklist the State in matters of organizing such national events
in future. No Assamese, true to his/her salt can accept this call of the
militant groups.
The claim of the ULFA that the 33rd edition at the
National Games was imposed on the State against the will of its People is
nothing but a travesty of truth. Assam secured the right to host it competing
with the other States of India. The State stared its claim to host the Games
going by the aspirations of its people.
The ULFA has also issued a covert threat to the sport
persons of the State when it said that they should not take part in the Games
to ensure their safety and security with this, the ULFA has crossed all
limits of civility, which can not be tolerated by any conscientious people.
Yes, the ULFA has its issues to be settled with the
Government of India. But for that it should not go to hold Assams people to
ransom.
We appeal to the people of Assam to oppose the ULFA
Threat and to actively take part in organizing the 33rd National Games in the
States.
