I will never forget three incidents in my life in connection to Autowala 1991, Mumbai: I was visiting Mumbai for the first time and knew nothing. I hired an auto at Railway station (Sardarjee). He has to search for house and took me to the door steps of the house I supposed to visit and charged regular fare.
1996, Guwahati: I bought a household appliance and hired an auto to carry it to my rented house. After 30 minutes the autowala came back to my house and returned my money bag and the umbrella and told me to count if something is missing. He did charged extra for that. 2002, Mumbai: I left my mobile in the auto when I came back from Railway station to my room at Bandra. The autowala came back after 15 minutes and returned my mobile. Never asked for boxis. I also had many arguement with autowala and rickshaw wala related to fare, but not all of them are same. We can not generalise. Three incident in my life taught me to respect people who has dignity and cares about honesty. Dwipen Boruah
