Would like to extend my support to Shri Barada Sarma's proposal for a
"special tribute" to Late Anima Chakravartty, an NRI, in Assam
Convention 2007. In addition to NRI, I feel, if Assam Convention Host
Committee includes people from Assam as well in this programme the
program would highlight connection/solidarity with the people of Assam.

So I would like to extend the liberty to request the Assam Convention
Host Committee Boston, Massachusetts to include names from Assam as well
in the "special tribute" event and I would like to suggest a name
"Bhabananda" to be included in the list.

In brief Late Bhabananda Deka contributed to academia as well as
socio-cultural development in Assam who retired as Principal (also
authored the first Assamese text book on Economics) - Asam Prakashan
Parishad award for a novel on his life. And in addition, he is a Vaisnav
Scholar who composed Kirtan Ghosha hymns of Guru Sankaradeva to English
language - this might add value to Asam Sahitya Sabha North America
agenda in Assam Convention 2007.
