This is a shocking news. It is a great blow to the cause of the Assamese. I
hope younger Assamese IAS Officers will come forward to take up the cudgels for
the cause of the Assamese ---- that will be the best tribute to Ashok Saikia.

Let us pray for the Peace of the Departed Soul. Let us --- his family and
friends--- pray for strength to withstand the shock.

With love to everybody,

Himendra

It is a shocking news!!! We saw Ashok and Bonti last August and we had a
memorable time together in our house and then we spent a night in a cabin in
Arnold, California, He was in very good spirit then. From Arnold he drove to
Yosemite along with Bhonti and then they drove to San Diego after spending a
couple nights at Yosemite. I could not imagine that that was the last time we
spent together.

Our thougts and prayers with his bereaved family. May his soul rest in eternal
peace.
