Hi friends!

i want to share a heart warming experience with u all.

i stay in bangalore and being the mother of a toddler find it very difficult to
manage wearing our traditional dress while carrying him.But a couple of months
back,i read a write up of Sashi Tharoor wherein he expressed dismay at our fast
fading saree clad generation replaced by the new generation wearing more
convenient clothes, like salwar kameez, western clothes. The write up initiated
mixed response but to me it was a wake up call.i tried to remember the last
time i had donned a saree or our very own mekhela chaddar.Abashed....i could
not recollect.

So, i made a decision that even if not often, i'll definitely wear saree or
mekhela chaddars to formal occasions.

As soon as i did,our traditional dress evoked such a response that it left me
overwhelmed. Almost all the ladies,i know want me to get them our traditional
dress and they want to learn how to wear it.It is moments like this which makes
you feel special to be born an assamese.
