Inter-college quiz contest at Kaliabor College
On the occasion of the silver jubilee celebration of the Commerce
Deptt of Kaliabor College, an inter-college quiz competition on all-
Assam basis is being organised here at Kaliabor College on September
5 next and it will be held at the college auditorium at 11 am. Two-
member teams from intending colleges may participate in the
competition.
The prizes of the quiz competition are: first prize Late Prof Azit
Hazarika Memorial Award along with Rs 3000 in cash, second prize
Late Prof Arup Bordoloi Memorial Award along with Rs 2000 in cash and
the third prize, a certificate along with Rs 1000 in cash.
The quiz incharge here has requested the intending participants to
communicate on or before August 31 at the following address
Principal, Kaliabor College, and Jacob Konwar, quiz incharge.
Public resentment: In 1988, a water tank was constructed at
Sonarigaon under Kaliabor Subdivision for irrigation purposes. In
2001-02, an approach road connecting the field was also constructed
there under SGRY Scheme and the next year it was repaired by DRDA
under the aegis of the GP president. The public as well as the
farmers benefited highly through this route.
But it is a matter of utter concern and surprise that one Azon
Pharmaceutical Ltd, Janakpuri, New Delhi-58 is trying to block the
route as a result of which the public will face immense difficulties.
It will be inconvenient for all. In this connection, Rajesh Ganju,
Panchayat Member, Uttar Pubtharia GP had lodged a complaint with the
authority concerned and has already sent copies to all including the
local MLA, SDO(C), Kaliabor. The concerned authority have not yet
taken any step in this regard. The public here have demanded the
concerned authority to look into the matter and take proper steps for
public benefit.
