Dear Mukti,

My idea was not to undermine the seriousness. Kashmir problem cannot be
comapred so easily with any other states.
Kashmir Problem has got International media attention as well, and I see that
as a reason for local media to capture it as well.

I am not a media person, but a simple human... at a time when everyone around
is suffering with some or other problem and for no fault of theirs, Those who
can think need to sound more responsible towards society as such.

Do not get me wrong, but when Flood is a topic, crying 'no attention' sounds
very childish, you know many times, its pretty easy to blame rather than see
deeper in the problem....

the serious insurgency discourages News Channels to keep a full time reporter
for Assam/ NE.
 1. Seious insurgency - last few weeks we are seeing live images from kashmir
showing their protests etc. So there are FULL TIME reporters in Kashmir also.
2. Is the insurgency in Assam now more serious than the Maoists of MAINLAND
India? But there seems to be no dearth of FULL TIME reporters in these mainland
areas for the TV channels.
3. Floods in Bihar are really serious. It needs National intervention. But why
Bihar only? It should happen for every part? Whether Mainland, heartland, tail
or NE. But surprisingly, not a single MAINLAND channel is uttering even a
single word about sixteen districts and more than 20 lakh people being affected
right now besides whats happening in Bihar. ISN"T that surprising?
Maybe Madam, your observation needs further observation to shed superficiality.
