Trailukya must be congratulated for writing a very pragmatic suggestion as "I
feel, first we should launch the newspaper without making it Asom Centrick.
Only this will make the NewsPaper well accepted by every one. Once it get
popularized, the texts containing Asoms news will get value as discussed
before. But this will only serve to a complain that we(Asom) do not get enough
publicity comparing to the other state of the nation. Hopefully it will be a
strategic marketing kinda work for Incredible Asom."

We need practical people like Trailukya. I wrote to Manoj that "The proposed
newspaper should be an All-India journal dealing with problems of the entire
India where thousands of adolescents are kidnapped and dismembered to steal
their organs, 25,000 brides are annually "killed or maimed" for dowry, not to
speak about lakhs of female feticide for son-preference, crores of low-caste
and low-income people subjected to injustice and economic exploitation, etc.
These will be regulars features. Emergencies like Gujarat earthquake, Assam
flood+earthquake, Bihar flood, etc., will be intermittent/recurrent news to be
solved by All-India and the World."

I urge Manoj and his friends to take leadership in forming the company that
will own the proposed newspaper and formulate the editorial guide-lines. I
request Trailukya to prepare a list of people who have already come forward to
"contribute" ---- the correct word will be "investment" by buying shares ---
and publish the updated list in the assamonline site--- so that more people
will come forward. I'll buy share for US$1,000/- as soon as Manoj launches the
shares.

Such an All-India journal will gradually proliferate into annual souvenirs,
monthly magazines, weekly tabloids, daily newspapers, hourly TV-stations and
Internet Website at the speed of light. Such a set up will be a life-saver for
Assam. I hope everyone will come forward.

With love to all,
Himendra

The national/International level entrepreneurship in this context, from Asom
will be indeed a welcoming initiative. I am ready to contribute to it whatever
I can for these positive steps.

I feel, first we should launch the newspaper without making it Asom Centrick.

The odd truth is that, emotion will no longer fuel the project, the necessity
is of revenue and "national readers" response to it.

I guess Mr. Utpal Talukdar is a member of this community. Must be he is aware
of the fact. In this context I would like to request Talukdarda or anybody
concerned with national media to let us know their experience why we do not get
the desired publicity. What is the real fact and how we could solve it? Don't
we have the media value(commercially) or what?

Mr. Manash Pratim Gohain (TIMES OF INDIA) if you are in this community, we
would like to have some word from you too.

  Best regards

  Dear Kuladip,

This was exactly what I said a few months back --- but the topic was dropped.
I am grateful to you for reviving this vital life-saver: WE MUST HAVE AN
ALL-INDIA NEWS PAPER !!

I welcome entrepreneurs like Manoj Das and others to take leadership. I'll
buy stock once they float it. Everyone else who love Assam will buy stock. The
newspaper will be a grand success very soon.

  With love to all,
  Himendra

Subject: [asom] Bihar is suffering due to flood:- Assam always suffers
(Yearly festival!!!)

"Flood in Bihar is in national/Internatio nal focus:- many people from media
in India are from Bihar??? "

True. The situation in Bihar was highlighted unproportionately much more in
Hindi News channels while Assam's situation was overlooked. Though it is unfair
you can't help. All the people are selfish more or less naturaly.

We need some national media (TV channels, News papers in Hindi & English)
widely circulated/seen in India/abroad, predominently manned by Native
Assamese, if we have to highlight our problems (Flood, Bangladeshi etc.)
properly since NETV and Newslive are only meant for the region only.

Assamese competant enterprising people may think on the above line.
