I agree with what you say and i too dont endorse a particular party or
politician. In today's political scenario its about choosing between the bad
and worse and we cant help it.
But one thing i would like to point out is the issue of perception. It is
generally perceived, seen and experienced that separatist elements generally
dont have the courage to raise their heads in a BJP ruled state. The situation
in Orissa is to be condemned but the situation is Assam is quite different
If things continue on current rate people in Assam wont just have the trouble
of losing out on their religious beliefs but also their nationality (Imagine
Bangladesh claiming Assam a part of Bangladesh) their homes and everything else
attached to it. There is bound to be mass scale migration of locals wilfully or
forcefully just like faced by the Kashmiri Pundits
I view the current situation more as a threat to our homes and nationality
rather than religious beliefs. Religion and Nationalism (in this case belonging
to a certain nation) are two different issues and should remain so but
ironically in this country the politicians invariably link the two

Sandeep,
Good thought. But known for igniting religious conflicts I doubt if BJP will do
any good to the state. What if they start converting the tribals to Hinduism
forcefully and start demolishing educational institutions run by Christians?
Just a hypothetc thought, but the history teaches us lessons.

Rajni

This was bound to happen. It was only a question of WHEN??? Now i think that
question too has been answered
Its time some responsible governement is brought to power in the state or else
the Assamese in Assam too will meet the same fate as the Kashmiri Pundits. We
will be driven out of our own homes In Kashmir too things started on the same
note. I hope i am proved wrong but i hope we dont see a similar situation few
years later wherein a part of Assam becomes similar to Kashmir valley with
dominance of separatist elements and the other part pro INdia consisting of
Assamese (similar to Jammu)
The AGP govt failed on its promises and the Congress i doing no good. Is it
time the BJP is given a chance??? Although i don't endorse BJP and some of its
some methods wholeheartedly but still atleast we can try and giv them a chance
