Aside from all the other responses, I recall one that was
critical at the time the option was first offered. The offset to
a DD entry in the TIOT is stored in a half-word in the DCB, and
contemporary software used LH to access the field.

I would sincerely hope that your system doesn't have legacy code
that old and broken <G>
