In no way was my comment directed personally at Jim - or any of the
other IBM (vendor) contributors. All are valuable and valued - on this
list as well as others.

Shane's riposte about IBM attempting to herd cats was apposite and
even, locally, deserved; but it is not a good global characterization
of Jim Mulder's contributions here.

On balance over the years they have, I think, been concretely helpful
and neither patronizing nor dogmatic.
