I for one enjoyed much of your style. But as Marshall McLuhan observed, the medium is the message. If one shouts "I love you " while snarling, the words are mostly overridden by the style.
There is an old cartoon, probably from Playboy, showing a portly gentleman dressed in Renaissance style, at the counter of a florist. He requests "a bunch of stalks."
