I like break characters too, but the practice of putting everything in
majuscules is the more offensive.   The only possible defense of their
use is that old habits die hard, even and perhaps especially when the
rationale for them has disappeared.

The multiple-zero-character approach is, it must be conceded,
ingenious; but, to borrow Thorstein Veblen's phrase, it is misspent
ingenuity.
