Australia in on the "other' side of the International Date Line and in
the Southern Hemisphere. It has three time zones, and daylight/summer
time is observed in some places and not observed in others.

For concreteness, consider the Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
time zone. In it Daylight time (AEDT) begins at 0200 AEST on the
first Sunday in October and ends at 0200 AEST (sic), i.e., 0300 AEDT,
on the first Sunday in April.
