That should be an EBCDIC '1' (one) for new page. Sorry - hit the shift key by
mistake.

That is my recollection.

Are you using ASA control? Can you begin the line with a ! (new page) or 0
(double space)?

There is an equivalent for M control.

Subject: Question on CNTRL macro

I am converting some assembler programs from VSE to z/OS. Some use the CNTRL
macro to skip lines and pages on reports, but it looks like the system is
ignoring the function. In the manual, I read:

"The CNTRL macro is ignored for spooled SYSIN or SYSOUT data sets."

Is this saying that since we are using JES2 spooling, we have to do something
different than the CNTRL macro? If so, what is the normal alternative that is
used?
