Yep. It worked just fine prior to the PTFs being applied. I made a
copy of the assembler prior to the update and I can assemble with it
using MACHINE(ZS7). I'll poke at it some more before I get in touch
with IBM about it.
Thanks

Only thing I can imagine is that APAR introduced a bug. ZS7 worked
before, I presume.
This is certainly the right list.
And totally off-topic, I see AGH has finally been added! Hallelujah.
Fat lot of good it'll do me unless it's actually already in all
machines that have LGH (as it well should have been).

Hello,
I just applied PTFs for the following APAR:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg1PI62275&myns=z000&mynp=OCSWG90&mync=E&cm_sp=z000-_-OCSWG90-_-E
It basically brings in the Z14 instructions into the assembler. Had to
install a couple pre-reqs but everything went well. As far as I can tell,
everything works correctly except when I specify MACHINE(ZSERIES-7) as a
parameter to the assembler. HLASM complains with "** ASMA400W Error in
invocation parameter - MACHINE(ZSERIES-7,NOLIST)" and it only pops out for
ZSERIES-7 and ZS7. It's happy with everything else including
ZSERIES-8/ZS8.
Any ideas as to why it is doing this?
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong list to post this to.
Thanks
Frank
