Still making progress - but still not quite there yet...
Fixed a problem where 64-bit versions of the code would occasionally
hang during shutdown in the glib code.
Fixed a crash - when a nanoprobe was shut down before it had connected
to the CMA.
Fixed it so the nanoprobes will wait for an ACK on their shutdown
message before shutting down - but still shut down if none is
forthcoming in 10 seconds or so.
Tweaked debugging code. Wrote a test script to start up and shut down
nanoprobes at random every few seconds. Which is how I found the next
problem... Have an issue where sometimes the nanoprobes can't connect to
the collective management authority (CMA).
That's next on my list.
Getting the nanoprobes to start up and shut down reliably with zero
memory leaks is harder than it seems. In the Linux-HA project (and
still in Pacemaker) shut down was a perennial problem. Sometimes things
would just hang shutting down. Fortunately this is much simpler than
Pacemaker.
