Hi,
A few years ago, I started the Assimilation project. After a year or
so, I realized what incredible potential it had (and since then my
estimate has grown), and I began to plan for building a company around
this project.
About a year ago, I received a serious offer for funding me to start a
company around the project. I had a criteria for starting the company -
which hasn't yet been met.
But Wednesday last week, IBM announced extensive layoffs (about 30% of
my division) - and my name was on that list.
So after significant prayer, thought and study I have decided that this
is my next career move.
The plan is to continue producing this and providing the project as open
source exactly as before, but also offering this same software with
support under a commercial license (details not yet worked out). But
hopefully, with your help, and the help of those to come, should be able to
The company's name is "Assimilation Systems Limited", and it's a
Colorado Limited Liability Company.
Since there's no one else in the company, I've decided my title must be
C/X/O. That is, CTO, CEO, CFO, CMO, etc ;-) This is in addition to
chief cook, bottle washer, dog walker, pooper scooper, and all around
guy-who-tries-to-make-things-happen.
