*Description*



The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the
support of applications, implementing packaged applications,

monitoring critical logs, and working directly with users to troubleshoot
and support incidents regarding custom applications and systems issues.

The Application Support Engineer will also be the liaison between the
Infrastructure and Development organizations.

This individual must have a deep technical understanding and be able to
communicate at both a business and technical level.



*Position Overview*

• The selected candidate will be responsible for participating in scheduled
detailed information gathering sessions with the development and support
teams to provide feedback on direction and impact on the infrastructure

• Wear many hats: deployment and automation engineer, performance analyst,
service architect, system/database administrator, capacity planner, tools
developer, performance monitoring expert, and project planner.

• Perform operation/production support, including incident management and
root cause analysis of system and application failures and engineer
solutions.

• Manage day-to-day operations of the monitoring systems to ensure
stability, reliability and availability of applications and services for
the business.

• Identify opportunities for improvement; design, develop and implement
solutions to increase server and application reliability and performance.

• Partner with internal customers to understand problems, deliver a hands
on immediate remedy as well as a long term strategy for enterprise wide
issues and anticipate needs.

• Coverage for this role includes:  hardware (blade servers, storage),
network devices (routers, switches), servers (OS health, resources),
databases (scripting, blocking), and applications (health API info, log
files, end-to-end functionality).

• Provide documented architectures, engineering designs, and implementation
plans of traditional and cloud-based solutions utilizing industry best
practices.

• Provide 24/7/365 operational support of applications and be part of an
on-call rotation.

• Receive Service Requests relating to fixes, fails, and proposed system
changes. Perform initial troubleshooting and support identification of root
cause of Incidents.

Escalate Incidents to third party vendor as required.

Follow through on processing Incidents and drive resolution with the third
party vendor.

Produce timely Incident reports documenting system downtime.



*Qualifications*

*• Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS, MIS or equivalent 3+ years of experience
in a related field.*

*• 3+ years of experience working as an Application Support Engineer, Dev
Ops Engineer*

*• 3+ years of experience supporting one or more OS architectures such as;
(Windows, Linux, UNIX, etc.)*

*• 3+ years of experience providing end-user support for computers, servers
or applications.*

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with
customers, teammates, and other internal colleagues.

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience with Local Area Networks and distributed
computing environments

• Solid understanding of server virtualization

• Experience working with monitoring and application performance solutions

• Experience supporting Oracle EBS applications

• Experience with MS SQL
