Now I think we are getting into semantics. Yes ASSP does relay information between the 2 devices (server => server || client => server). But it is a proxy not a relay.
In the world of SMTP a relay is another "host" that will allow you to pass mail onto it, and it will then in turn send that email on to either another relay OR the real destination server. -- Chris L.
