Yes, I'd add the e-mail address, rather than the server IP, because the server IP (as in the case of Yahoo) might well be a legitimate sending server. When I see assp crashing, I search the mail log using the web GUI for [startup] assp-professional and the result is usually something like this (from the most recent crashing message on my server): May-31-11 20:58:25 [Worker_2] Info: Worker_2 got connection from MainThread May-31-11 20:58:25 [Main_Thread] Info: Main_Thread freed by idle Worker_2 in 0.010 seconds May-31-11 20:58:25 [Worker_2] Connected: 98.139.213.128:36345 > my.server.IP.number:25 > 127.0.0.1:nnn May-31-11 20:58:25 [Worker_2] 98.139.213.128 info: sending EHLO instead of HELO to 127.0.0.1 May-31-11 20:58:26 id-89905-21127 [Worker_2] 98.139.213.128 <[email protected]> to: [email protected] Message-Score: added -10 for Home Country Bonus US (Yahoo!), total score for this message is now -10 May-31-11 20:58:33 [startup] Starting in console mode May-31-11 20:58:34 [startup] ASSP-professional version 2.0.2(3.0.28) (Perl 5.008008) (on darwin) initializing May-31-11 20:58:34 [startup] Info: no valid recipient replacement rule found May-31-11 20:58:34 [startup] Info: 10 MSGID-secrets activated May-31-11 20:58:34 [startup] Info: 10 BATV-secrets activated May-31-11 20:58:35 [startup] Info: registered encrypted POP3ConfigFile file /usr/local/assp/files/pop3cfg.txt May-31-11 20:58:35 [startup] Info: an ASSP restart will be done with: perl assp.pl . & May-31-11 20:58:35 [startup] ASSP version 2.0.2(3.0.28) (Perl 5.008008) (on darwin)running on server: my.SMTP.server (my.server.IP.number) Note how the incoming mail is about ten seconds before the restart. I just add the e-mail to the preHeaderRe in the form: bqikq\@mydomain.com It works like a charm, but I'd really like this addition function to be in the "add/remove addresses from lists" pop-up window of the assp web-based GUI.
