Hi All! On my server Win32::Unicode version 0.35 is installed and I have no crashes since migration to Windows 2008 SP2 x86 in the middle of June, ActiveState Perl 5.14.2.1402
BTW. I've looked on my old server that crashes on rebuildspam start - it has the same versions of Perl and Win32::Unicode (and the other modules too) Maybe this error resides some deeper than module? Thomas Von: Thomas Eckardt <[email protected]> An: "ASSP development mailing list" <[email protected]>, Datum: 07.07.2012 12:15 Betreff: [Assp-test] assp V2 : VERY important NOTE Hi all, in the last days my system (W2K3SP2 - Perl 5.12.4) was running in to problems - reported by others in the last weeks. - Rebuild-Task kills assp on file access - assp dies unexpected both without any log or debug information - even in console mode. Inspecting the issue I found out that this behavior IS related to an (auto) update of the Perl module 'Win32::Unicode' from version 0.28 to version 0.36. Reverting the version to 0.28 solves the problems! To prevent the update of that module, configure the 'never upgrade these modules' file (files/noupgrade.txt) list in 'AutoUpdateASSP' or select 'noModuleAutoUpdate'. If your system was still updated to a module version higher than 0.28 and shows the described symtoms - downgrade the module to version 0.28 will solve the problems . I've done no test on Perl 5.14 - it would be nice to get some information about the used module version and issue (yes/no) from you!
