:-)

This is bit out of scope of the project itself, but please bare with me
for a second, and read on:

No, I'm not continuing or instigating that previous thread topic. ;o)
But, that discussion got me to thinking about a few things. One of
which was, what kind of a job is ASSP doing writing the files it needs
back to disk?

Upon inspection of my Windows 2003 / Exchange 2003 server that also runs
ASSP on my system volume (mail databases and logs have their own volumes
respectively) , I noticed that every single email file written to the
corpus folders was in (2) file fragments.

I'm not suggesting there is a performance problem here. I'm just a bit
dumb-struck as to why the files are written to as two-piece fragments.

I can defrag them (which I did as a test), but the new files written
will simply continue to be written in two-piece fragments.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this behavior would occur? Can
anyone else check for similar behavior?
