We have multiple domain controllers in a W2k environment. One of those is our email machine and the email software we use, Imail 8.22, requires it to be installed on a domain controller in order to integrate with Active Directory. We run ASSP in front of that on the same machine. With everything working so well in our current setup, we certainly do not want to have to supply another machine just for future versions of ASSP. > 2 If you choose to run BIND, then disable the Microsoft DNS service. Bind is not an option. Simply reverting to net::dns version 0.57 works well as a workaround for us. I just set up a new mailserver at home on Windows XP Pro using ASSP 1.2.5(2), hMailserver as the MTA, and MS SMTP as the outbound delivery service. Took longer than I would have liked but it works great. Now I am looking at options for webmail. It will probably be Squirrel but I'm looking at Roundcube too. Using hMailserver to AV scan incoming mail with the SOSDG ClamAV install works great and fast. Using the ASSP integration with clamd does not :o( as we all know. I have no problems adding an executable and another step (dig) to the already complex startup process of ASSP. I see a big deal only if it invalidates the ability to run on the same Windows (whatever, 2k, 2k3) server running MS DNS and our email program. This I hope we avoid at all costs. As always, thanks for a great product! Doug Traylor ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
