Hi all,

Sorry to revive this topic yet again (I've seen this thread come up at least
a half dozen times on this list), but still don't know if anyone has managed
to find a fully functional solution yet. I've heard suggestions of using
port 587, stunnel, etc, but nothing completely concrete. Has anyone managed
to get a fully functional version working properly?

My issue with stunnel is that ASSP will see all incoming connections will be
seen as coming from 127.0.0.2, and consequently, not be able to perform and
proper delaying, RBL, PB, etc. So that kind of kills that ide.

Completely disabling port 465 (SSL) is a possibility, but that kind of
kills the whole concept of trying to keep server-to-server comms encrypted.
Hopefully one day server-to-server will be mostly encrypted, and rarely
plaintext.

Forcing clients to connect to port 587 to send is fine, but what stops a
spammer from spamming that port eventually? Unfortunately, my MTA doesn't
give me the ability to specify that certain ports are only available to
authenticated users only.

I'd love to hear if anyone has managed to get a fully functional SSL/TLS
setup running with ASSP.

Thanks!

Eric
