I battled with this notion for a while before I decided to just "go for
it" with ASSP a couple years ago.  I came to the conclusion that there
was almost no situation where someone wants an address to be on the
whitelist and someone else doesn't want to receive anything from that
address.  We've been operating with one whitelist from day one, and I've
never had an issue like you're thinking of above.

The only "issue", if you could even call it that, with having one
whitelist is that if someone has a non-standard auto-responder setup on
their mailbox that replies to a spammer, that whitelist entry taints the
list for everyone.  A per-user whitelist would diminish the impact of
such a thing, but I think would cause too many other problems.

I've seen this "feature" on other products for years, but my experience
with ASSP tells me it's not needed...even in our ISP environment.
