I'm forwarding this in case anyone here has experienced the same thing using ASSP with IMail.
Tried the IMail mailing list, but didn't get any responses, and I still can't figure out what's wrong. Anyone? I'm running an antispam-proxy (ASSP) in front of our ageing Imail 8.05 server. It has worked fine for some time, but recently, Imail randomly decides to refuse all connections from the proxy. I've tried telneting directly to Imail from the proxy, but the connection is immediately refused. Restarting the Imail SMTP service solves the problem (at least for a while). Changing the proxy's IP address also immediately solves the problem, until it's changed back. This leads me to believe that Imail somehow blacklists the proxy's IP, maybe due to heavy traffic from it? Does anyone have any idea where to look for such a non-persistent blacklist/block/ban? Imail's log files doesn't even mention the connection attempts, so I'm stumped..
