Since Thursday evening, I have been having some major problems with our
email system. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to ASSP but can't
figure out what happened. Before Thursday, all emails were going out well.
I believe I made one configuration change, but nothing that would stop the
flow of email.
Most everyone who has Outlook as their email client has been receiving this
error:
Task 'server name - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800ccc0f): 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

I've looked for an answer, but none of them solve the problem. This error
goes away once I take off ASSP, and leave my Imail server accept all smtp
connections on it's own.
I am using ASSP 1.3.0, but was on 1.2.6 Thursday when all the trouble began.
I thought perhaps upgrading might solve the issue, but it does not. I've
looked in the log files, and nothing really looks out of place, except for
when I begin ASSP as a service, I get this:
Mar-21-07 10:38:24 couldn't create server socket on port '25' -- maybe
another service is running or I'm not root (uid=0)?

Restarting ASSP makes that error not return, but soon, people can't send
emails.
When I enable ASSP, I use port 125 to forward emails to Imail.
Has anyone run into this before? I'd really love to get ASSP working again,
but lately, it's just not working for me. It was such a great program, that
now I realize, as well as many of the email users, just how great a job ASSP
does.

Thanks,
ernesto
