Hi everybody,

we use ASSP on the same host as the mailserver (Courier). ASSP is switched
to test mode and I use the "X-Assp-Spam: Yes" header to sort Spams into a
special folder in users' maildirs. That special folder does not get
delivered via POP3, but can be seen via IMAP or (most cases) through the
webmail interface (Sqwebmail). This way the user is not annoyed by spam
being delivered to his mail client and only then being sorted into the junk
folder. On the other hand the user can still check what is sorted out.
Everything fine up to here.

The email interface addresses work fine, when I send a mail from outside the
mailserver (i. e. when I want to report spam that got through). When I check
the spamfolder (which resides on the mailserver) via Sqwebmail and I try to
report not-spam, then I get a "550 - user unknown" from my mailserver. This
is probably because Sqwebmail is well integrated with the Courier mailserver
and sets its mails on the track _behind_ ASSP, directly into Courier,
despite the changed smtp port.

Any ideas how I can trick this and locally send mail to ASSPs email
interface?

In case of not-spam email one solution would be to move not-spam from the
spam-folder into the normal inbox, then fetch it via POP3 (I want to get it
anyway as it is not-spam) and then forward it to ASSPs reporting address.
But this is quite complicated and users' rejection to the procedure grows
with every mouse-click :-). In the case of webmail-only users we need a
different solution. And with spam we obviously don't want to go that way.

Thanks for your thoughts

Dirk
