Taken a step further, disconnecting if they do not honor the delay (which all legit emailers should do) is another great way to stop spammers. I used this in another email program and it was extremely effective. If I were to guess, I would say it stopped 50%-60% of spammers at the door because they want to connect and dump instead of waiting.
