It seems I might have a miss understanding with how ASSP works wrt to PB. First off, I assumed that if ASSP received repeat identical spam emails that after a period, even without bayesian rebuild. It would stop accepting mail from the IP or etc. Like every email from IP hitting Bayesian, would cause it to be a PB candidate or etc.
I have seen this with valid email lists, where it was rejected as spam via Bayesian. In fact that's where my problem lies. This stuff is picked up by Bayesian, but not by anything else. It seems to be much worse since I upgraded to 1.3.3.8. It was a very minor issue before with 1.2.6. For example, yesterday I received 13 identical emails. With subject from as follows. Subject: Halloween Blowout Sale - $5 off any 1 item; $15 off any 2 items; $25 off any 3 items or more! From: "Shoebuy.com" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Now yesterday and the two days before it. I have received in excess of 50 of the following. Now those are valid and I am working on correct it. But 50+ tries to deliver a valid email daily is quite insane. Likely using some mass marketing email app or something. But this is legit. Subject: Good Sam Network News - October 2007 From: "Good Sam Parks" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In fact most of it seems to be legit email servers. But since the stuff is being rejected as spam via Bayesian. They for some reason try again, and again, and again. Not all is wanted email, most is unwanted. But I don't want tons of copies in Bayesian or not. Reported above is just a small amount. I am seeing this across the board, many domains, email accounts and etc. It's causing my reports to be HUGE, IMHO unnecessarily. Many duplicate emails, all of which show 5 or more copies rejected via Bayesian. Now I did see some of this before 1.3.3.8, including with 1.2.6. But that was only for a few particular servers spamming me. Which I have since added their IP to the deny always lists. And those have been resolved. But this other problem seems to be growing :( New servers daily with many dup emails hitting Bayesian. I have never seen that before, not since PB and other stuff was added. However the amount of this has increased so much with 1.3.3.8. I don't know what to do. I have even turned on other new features I wasn't using in the past.
