So I have a solution to this (sort of). Firstly I don't think there is anything wrong with either our DNS or /etc/hosts file however I've stopped the warnings by setting smtpDestination:=127.0.0.1:x (it was just x) in the assp.cfg file. and changing the postfix master.cf to 127.0.0.1:x inet n - n - - smtpd (where x is our internal postfix port) postfix now seems to be happy that the connections are coming from 127.0.0.1 Dave. -- Dr. David Holden.
