I disagree... CONVERTING one file type to another is certainly NOT a normal function of an anti-spam filter - and as for it being a 'side-effect' - just as Thomas how much effort he put into getting that 'side-effect' to work... > on the other hand, stripping attachments or even blocking them by > size isn't imVHo a job for ASSP, but for the backend MTA; all ASSP > needs to do is ensure that the MTA gets "clean" messages, then, how > the MTA processes those is just a task for the MTA itself But if the MTA is going to reject a message, that rejection should occur at SMTP time. Again - if one is going to have a certain specific policy in place to block messages over a certain size, or block certain attachments, the initial point of entry is the best place for such behavior. I'm NOT saying that attachment stripping 'belongs' here, I'm just saying that if it can do it reliably, then it is a viable candidate. I think Fritz already said he wasn't interested in such a feature, so its a moot point anyway... -- Best regards, Charles ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Assp-user mailing list Assp-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/assp-user
