I've been trying to get ASSP to do LDAP lookups correctly and I'm still
receiving the error message LDAP search error 89 in the logs. I've been
searching the forums and the email list and I've not found anything
that's given me a fix for this issue. I'm doing lookups against active
directory on a Windows server 2003 domain controller.

Here is a brief view of my LDAP config in ASSP

LDAP Host : FQDN for our DC ( I've also tried the IP address)

LDAP Login: cn=ldap read,ou=IT,ou=Domain Users,dc=kerninc,dc=com

LDAP Password: ***** I'm positive this is correct.

LDAP Version 3

LDAP Root container: ou=Domain Users,dc=kerninc,dc=com ( also tried just
the dc fields)

LDAP filter for Local Domains: blank

LDAP filter for local addresses: mailNickname=USERNAME

I've tried every possible configuration I can think of to get this to
work and I still get the search error 89.

I'm thinking that the organization of our AD is definitely non-standard.
Unfortunately I'm not really allowed to change that. However I have
several other open source applications that are able to connect and
query our AD just fine.

Is there something I'm missing or configured incorrectly?
