I replaced Brightmail with ASSP when the license came up for renewal.  I
thought that Brightmail did an ok job until I got ASSP up and running.  It's
more than an order of magnitude better.  After a bit of tweaking, one person
who got about 24 spams per day now generally gets a single spam message
every 2 months or so.  Every once in a while she'll say something like,
"Hey, I got a spam today... what's up with that?".

 

The free and effective virus scanning of emails with ASSP's ClamAV
integration is just icing on the cake, although greylisting gets rid of most
of the virus-laden emails before they ever make it to the scan.

 

I'm waiting for Symantec or some other big anti-spam vendor(s) to try and
pull a SCO vs. Novell or some other type of attack on ASSP.  ASSP threatens
their market and as word continues to get out on just how effective it is,
things might stir up a bit.
