No, this is relatve simple - there is nothing new, all is already done
somewhere - this is a matter of knowledge and time and money (a large
amount of money) because you'll need high professional equipment (hardware
and software) and stuff
- it will take a team of professionals at least a week of brain storming
to develope and to write down the concept (firewall(s), systems +
virtualization, mail flow, databases, DNS-Servers, reporting, monitoring,
failover, backup .....)
- it will take the team 2 weeks to bring up and to configure all the
required equipment
- it will take the team at least a week to test all cases
the team: project leader, firewall admin, perl programmer, database admin,
mail server admin, DNS-server admin, directory service admin, SAN/NAS,
network and server system admin, virtualization specialist - and not to
forget the one who has the money and is willing to pay

Yea, i am imagine myself managed a google sized email system..
1. how do you distribute into different assp server?
2. SQL? i never know assp use it.. is this SQL some sort of flatfile
database?
3. challenge is always great. :) push one to a limit.
It will great to have some tutorial/documents to give a guide on how to
accomplish it.
