Thanks for your help this is what I came up with (had to make a few tweaks)
((re|fw):\s?)(lol|wow|hi|hello|heh|h[ea]\s*h[ea])?\s*.?\s*(:|=)?\)?.*? But assp still does nothing with it. I found this site a bit easier to read in terms of testing expressions http://myregexp.com/ any idea why it passes test but wont work? Thanks!
