>npsize is set to 0 for outgoing mails the parameter npsizeout is used disableing these noprocessing settings forces assp to fully process every mail (which will take time and system resources)
>One person pointed out that ASSP waits until it RTMF should be your first choice. processing a 4MB outgoing mail should not take longer than some seconds (~10 s), if your ISP connection is fast. set the following parameters to the highest level, process a mail, check the maillog.txt SessionLog ConnectionLog ScanLog AttachmentLog WorkerLog ConTimeOutDebug (output in the debug folder) possibly enable 'debug', if the maillog.txt does not help notes/configdefaults.txt will help you to find all nondefault (changed) assp settings depending on the stage were assp processing take too long, it may be required to increase several other logging settings if the SMTP-Timeout setting of your ISP MAIL RELAY is too low (connection is dropped by this server), increase the value - the setting must be higher than assp's 'smtpidleTimeout' (default 180 s) if this is not possible, change the mailflow to MAIL SERVER -> ASSP -> your new local outgoing relay server -> ISP MAIL RELAY -> INTERNET Because this was your first question here I'll forgive you the missing information about OS, perl version, ASSP-version ........ Next time you'll not get an answer from me, if these information are not provided. Our outgoing config is as follows: MAIL SERVER -> ASSP -> ISP MAIL RELAY -> INTERNET The mail server is currently configured with no limit on attachment size (this is for testing only, as it was previously set for 15MB). On ASSP, the npsize is set to 0, but mail larger than 4MB never gets forwarded to the mail. Instead we get a Delivery Timeout message. I saw in the forums that this has occurred with other users. One person pointed out that ASSP waits until it receives the whole message before "forwarding" it to the relay, and that this may be the reason for the timeout response. As I said, I'm not sure if there a setting that I missed or a solution that has previously been posted (I have yet to find one in the forums). Currently, for outgoing mail. We are just bypassing ASSP and going directly to the ISP mail relay, but we would prefer to use ASSP for both incoming and outgoing, and not just incoming. Thanks in advance.
