Doesn't that describe at least 80% of phone calls? I know that here in the US 99.99% of our customers have POTS analog telephone lines. The only ones who don't are commercial accounts that have T1 or PRI service, and maybe one guy who has a BRI for some unfathomable reason.

Cell phones are also typically digital as well. A commerical T-1 echo canceler hardware device is not usually cheap, but I'm told they are very effective.
