Can anybody here shed light on the database propagation issue? Once a

It should take 0. CLECs are not supposed to cache results of CNAM lookups. (according terms of service of people who run CNAM databases). However,
most CLECs do anyway, since CNAM lookup costs money.

Usually the cache is set to 24 hours, but I can imagine someone setting it to infinity by mistake...

I doubt that vonage, voicepulse and broadvoice are all using a greatly extended cache lifetime. In fact, they all seemed to pick up the misspelled CNAM the same day.

So it is likely that this hasn't been fixed yet. I guess I have to bother the ILEC about bothering the CLEC one more time. At least I hope it is just one more time.

What type of costs associated with CNAM lookup? A broadvoice BYOD lite DID is $5.95/month. There may be even cheaper offerings with CNAM. Lookups have to be done even if the call is not answered. I'm just curious about the risks these providers are taking when they offer the feature.
