Authorize.net is the de facto standard is CC processing. I use them with RBS Lynk as my actaul merchant account, and auth, net as my gateway, it works with a HTTPS POST, very easy to setup.

http://authorize.net
and
http://rbslynk.com

RBS is the biggest CC processor in the US, and its the cheapest as well..

May want to see if PayPal Website Payment Pros will work to, as there is no setup fee.

Hope this helps
Ron

Why can't they key in their credit card number, expiration date and CVS
number through the phone?   What you're looking to do isn't at all
complicated... you'll need a merchant account with a bank that exposes
some sort of API, an Asterisk machine and some development time.

This is a segue, but can anyone recomend 2-3 providers of merchant accounts and apis? I've heard nightmarish stories of what being tied to a single cc processor that decides to stop liking you for some reason....
