Let say, when ping is over 150ms, you have big chance for duplicates. Also problem can cause echo cancelation (turn on and off and play with) But i almost not seen duplicated DTMF with SIP on RFC2833. And i never seen duplicated DTMF on IAX2.
So, if your POPs are far, just use asterisk and IAX2 channels between. Andy.
