I have a question about Digium's policy around the commercialisation of services built over the Asterisk platform.
We are thinking about building a set of services on top of the Asterisk platform and selling them. We are now in trouble analyzing Digium's policy.
We plan to set up service platforms (specific configuration files, maybe modules) and either :
- sell them as a hosted service,
- operate them in our client's network,
- distribute software we programmed on top of Asterisk.
In each cases, do we owe something to Digium ? Do we have to pay any license to Digium (we will of course respect Digium's Trademark policy) as we may only build our services on the GPL'ed version of Asterisk ?
How will this evolve in the future ? Will Digium change its policy about Asterisk ?
Thank you in advance,
Antoine
