Would you rather use Microsoft? It's damn stable for 95% of people including me. No memory leaks, no bugs I have seen. I'm not a coder but the fact it is open source makes everything more transparent so you have visibility into everything that is going on. That make it seem like it is more buggy than closed source but that has not been my experience at all!
