It doesn't matter how much money they throw at it. That is why big companies usually just buy small innovative companies. Big companies are dysfunctional which get's in the way of innovation. M$ would be better off just buying (heaven forbid) Digium or something like that which of course they wouldn't do because Digium makes Linux products.
