Actually Trix it would be; 0.5*240=120 0.9*240=216
We have 240V in the UK However I think the point here is not that he is doubling his current consumption but that he is being "nickle & dimed" for his electric. I'd forget about the expenses and hassles of building a machine and move to an different provider.
