I was all keen to support Digium by shelling out my hard-earned cash and buying their phones. After all, there was auto-provisioning right ? So, off I went and bought a phone for proof of concept.
Having now gone through the process of 1) downloading binary-only modules (is this cross-platform ? ie arm etc) 2) obtaining licences (for free) through the store 3) downloading the register (for free) program 4) enabling internet connections for my machine 5) running the register program 6) finding the key in the email, copying to my machine 7) entering details such as name, company, address, phone number 8) copying the modules to the appropriate place I probably will not be buying any more phones. It's such a shame that this is for a "free" option to the phone system to support the phones that I don't have to buy. What if I am a provider who may be selling 10s/100s of pbx's ? I have an image / iso that I want to simply want to ghost / boot to each new box and I certainly don't want to have to get into each machine to enter all these details every bloody time. Good idea. Good kit. Bad implementation == No sale. Sorry. Julian -- Julian Lyndon-Smith IT Director, Dot R Limited "I don’t care if it works on your machine!
