Romford is under London Borough of Havering & it's not difficult to find a shared room for less than £400/wk. Your analysis maybe right for Chelsea, in Romford you can still find a nice self-contained 1bed flat for £750/month. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Chris Bagnall Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 4:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [asterisk-biz] Full time Asterisk/Linux job in London On 30/4/13 3:50 pm, Alex Balashov wrote: > However, if you've ever been to London and computed the cost of living, > in the city and well outside of it In fairness to the OP, he did say "Essex-based", and looking at his website, it looks like they're in Romford, which is (just about) sufficiently far outside London that £30k is probably feasible. However, Alex has hit the nail on the head here. It's very difficult to find anything to rent in London (even a room in a shared house) for much less than £400/wk, so £30k per annum (let's assume that's around £22k after tax) really doesn't go very far.
