>From the 20,000 foot level: Asterisk is a PBX with lots of local features Ser is the Central Office switch ( http://www.iptel.org/ser/ ) If you had hundreds/thousands of users and/or pbx's, ser typically handles the call routing. FWD uses ser as an example.
